Dad Fred’s Raised Gardens

The only reason I refer to my dad’s above as the base model is because there are so many options on these. Mine at the house have a water source coming up in the middle fed from my water towers, PVC irrigation system, 3/16″ thick fencing curved for archways/Vegetable Trellis, Openings Framed with PT 2×4’s and filled with Pea Gravel in middle, & thinner fencing wrapping each garden up to frame… so far. There aren’t pictures of these because they are still being built as I can afford individual parts. However, you can see some on my facebook page just please overlook the mess in my yard. Most of that has been cleaned up but I utilize every inch of my property when I’m working.

The above photos are obviously in no way wood but I built this to get rid of scrap lumber and it is extremely effective at just that. Actually it will torch anything you put in it once you get it going. I can build one of these for my customers as well but just know it is not to be used as a campfire. This is designed with a double wall and so that air flows in through the bottom and out the top like a jet. Meaning most of the heat is going up not sideways. Notice the height of the flame in the last picture. Hold something next to either the flame or the barrel then hold the same object over the opposite and you’ll notice the flame is bigger than the barrel. When I took that photo it was probably not quite 1/3 full of lumber. Even if there isn’t a big visible flame the heat being forced out of the business end of this thing will burn your eyebrows at the least. Don’t ask how I know. That being said there is a lot to this design that you can’t see at first glance. This is designed to burn the very exhaust that it creates reducing smoke and thus puts it in the category of incinerator. Once you start feeling it it will eat almost anything just as fast as you can put it in.
